Area & Perimeter

0

L.I I can measure and calculate the and perimeter of

squares/rectangles/triangles.

Today we went on a website called Maths Playground, on the website we played a game where we had to measure a square/rectangle and write their length, width, area and perimeter.

Some of us got chosen by the teacher to measure the triangle’s base, height and area.

Today I learnt how to measure the area of a triangle!

Introduction:
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind games? It’s extremely confusing, but interesting.

About Coding:
Coding can be extremely complicated, for example, have you ever seen a bunch of digit and letters? There are lots of different types/formats of coding-for example, line coding, source coding and lots of other different codes.

Cracking Codes:
To be able to crack a code you need to do a lot of different calculations. You also need to practise for many years to be able to understand a code and be an expert. You need to concentrate a lot to crack a code.

The start of coding:
You may not believe it but, coding just started out as  a lot of zero’s and one’s. Coding first started happening in World War Two in 1939-1945. There is a machine that could crack simple codes, however it takes a long time!

Conclusion:
Coding may be difficult, but there are some programs that make it more simple like Scratch, so you can make your own simple games! Enjoy having fun coding!

I felt happy about going to camp because I knew we would have a fantastic time there. That night before camp my mum packed my bags for camp. That morning as we got to the city we had to do a lot of walking to get to the Melbourne Discovery Centre.

When we get there we had to put our bags in the centre then do even more walking to The Shrine Of Remembrance for lunch. After lunch we got to go inside of it!It was so cool!We got to see rare thing from World War One and World War Two!

After that we had to walk even more to a tram. Then we finally for the day went went on a river cruise around the Yarra River and we saw tons of different places!

We then walked back to the Melbourne Discovery Centre. When we got there we did activities in our camp booklets. Then we had dinner which was Spaghetti Bolognese, it tasted absolutely delicious. When we finished we had to have a shower and get in our pyjamas. We then had to go to bed for the morning, because we were going to do more walking in the morning.

Summary – Exploring Space

0

At school today we had to do a summary of a book we read, this is my summary:

Space is the biggest thing in the universe, for example if you thought Earth was big think again. Thing of the Sun it is around 4.8 billion years old and has a diameter of 1.4 million kilometres. There are billions of galaxies like the Antennae galaxy, Sombrero galaxy and the one that we’re in is a small party of The Milky Way galaxy called the solar system. In The Solar System there are eight planets and one dwarf planet which is called Pluto. The other planets are Saturn, Earth, Mars, Uranus, Jupiter, Mercury, Neptune and Venus.

Some planets have lots of moons and some don’t. These are two planets amounts of moons they have, Jupiter has sixty-three moons and Earth only has one as you should already know . Earth has a circumference of 40,075 kilometres.Photo on 29-05-2015 at 10.15 am

I Am Poem

0

At school we did an I am poem and this is what I wrote

I am intelligent and funny,

I wonder about my family history,

I hear the seagulls squawking at the beach,

I see a boat floating in the ocean,

I want my family to win the lottery,

I am Intelligent and funny,

I pretend to be a superhero,

I feel a person touch me,

I touch a treasure chest full of gold,

I worry about dying,

I cry about getting left by myself,

I am intelligent and funny,

I understand why I need to go to school,

I say it’s to have breakfast,

I dream about food,

I try to be as good as I can,

I hope I have a good year this year,

I am intelligent and funny.

ANZAC WOW Day!

0

Yesterday the Year 4’s did three special activities for their Anzac wow day. First of all we made slouch hats that Anzacs use to wear. Then we made Anzac poppies. Finally we made Anzac Biscuits and they tasted absolutely delicious! I thought that day was really fun!
